HEALTH AND SAFETY

Veza Drainage and Civil Limited is proud to declare a zero-harm policy in the workplace and is dedicated to the maintenance and continuous development of our internal Health and Safety Management Systems.

We employ a full time Chief Safety Officer to oversee all Health and Safety aspects, from our staff and site performance, to new and initiative ways to break through the challenges.

SAFETY ON SITE

We have developed and implemented a number of initiatives designed to manage our on-site safety, and to develop our staff into industry leaders when it comes to Health and Safety.

01

In-House Safety Training

We have recently developed a series of courses designed to educate our staff on Health and Safety in the workplace. These interactive courses provide our staff with extensive knowledge of our internal procedures, like our Safe Operating Procedures, Health and Safety Policies and Foundation Safety Skills. These courses run alongside on-the-job training to ensure our staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to work safely and without harm. 02

Totika Qualification

For the past three years we have worked tirelessly to not only gain Totika Certification, but to implement their recommendations to improve our Health and Safety Systems and increase our overall safety scores. We take our duty to continuously improve seriously, and refer to many outside consultants and guidelines to ensure we are able to do so effectively.

03

Trench Safety

Open trenches and excavations are the greatest risk to our workers. Therefore we invest a lot of time and resources into ensuring our staff are not only adequately trained in Trench Safety, but are able to execute and maintain the required safety controls. From certified equipment and machinery, to extensive training, monitoring and emergency procedures. Here at Veza Drainage and Civil Limited we prioritise and maintain our passion for a zero-harm workplace.

04

Safety Culture

Rules and Regulations are only one part of maintaining on-site safety. We believe the overall "culture" and workplace experience help to "drive home" the importance of safety on-site and our zero-harm policy. Through various initiatives, engaging our staff and providing them with the channels and resources to have a voice, we strive to maintain an open and honest culture where workers aren't afraid to speak up and hold each other (and us) accountable.
